Boot Camp: The Ultimate Toolkit in Action!
Boot Camp is GFOABC's flagship residential program for local government finance professionals. Grounded in the legislation that guides the role of the financial officer and the Leadership Competency Framework (LCF), it helps participants connect statutory responsibilities with the leadership behaviours needed to guide teams and influence decisions.
Through member-to-member learning, real-life case studies, and applied exercises, participants explore how to interpret and apply legislation in practice.
Each participant receives the Boot Camp Toolkit — a comprehensive binder of templates, legislative references, and leadership resources to support their continued growth as confident, capable financial leaders.

This is a residential program held every summer at the University of Victoria. The fee includes accommodation, all meals and refreshments, and workshop materials. Participants are required to stay at the University of Victoria accommodations in order to gain the full benefits of the program.

- Requests to cancel before June 12, 2026, will be charged a 10% administration fee.
- Requests to cancel after June 12, 2026, can choose to transfer their registration to 2027 or to another member from the same organization.
- A total of $8,500 has been allocated to this program from MFA's Sustaining Education Fund and sponsorship, representing 15% of the total funding we receive to support its delivery, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to our work.
