In 2027, the GFOABC Annual Conference concludes our three-year Building Resilient Communities series, focusing on Governance & Leadership.
Following conversations about Climate & Infrastructure in 2025 and Housing & Infrastructure in 2026, we turn to the governance relationships, leadership practices, and organizational capacity needed to support sound decisions and resilient communities.
Governance & Leadership
Local government finance professionals operate at the intersection of many important community decisions. They support elected officials and senior administrators in understanding financial implications, assessing risk and trade-offs, planning for the long term, and responding to increasingly complex community expectations.
Through keynote presentations, panel discussions, technical sessions, and peer-to-peer dialogue, the 2027 conference will explore the role finance professionals play in strengthening governance, supporting leadership, and building resilient organizations and communities.
