SUPPORT COLLEAGUES AS A BOOT CAMP FACILITATOR!
Are you a knowledgeable local government finance executive who wants to give back to the profession? Submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) and begin the process to become a Boot Camp facilitator in 2024!
Taking place August 11-15, 2024, in Victoria, Boot Camp is a popular program and features a breadth and depth of programing unmatched in the local government ecosystem. Approximately 40 participants spend five days in an immersive learning environment, with sessions covering topics such as the role of the finance office, budgeting and financial planning, property taxation and assessment, sources and uses of funds, as well as financial reporting and accounting.
Established in 2007, the success of Boot Camp was built by passionate and dedicated people with a desire to mentor the next generation. Every year there are opportunities for experienced local government professionals to volunteer and become a facilitator at Boot Camp. Facilitators present specific topics and ready-made material in a classroom environment - leading discussions amongst Boot Camp attendees. Facilitators are experts who work for local governments or GFOABC partners organizations and are knowledgeable professionals who have spent many years in local government or working with local governments, and are often CFOs, audit firm partners or executives.
